Barclays Bank

Whilst at Barclays, I worked on a tool for iPads that branch managers would have access to, allowing customers to map out their requirements depending on life events ie. saving for a wedding or planning early retirement then select a suitable product.

  • Users would have the ability to pin choices to browse later or add products to a basket.

  • Within a timeline, customers could add multiple family members and book in future appointments or reminders. For example, their child may be planning on going to university in a few years and the parent need to put together a savings plan to pay for it. The tool would map out plan and offer the best products.

  • We designed various prototypes of the tool and saw it change over time with a more broader range of products being suggested, as in this example whereby the user is comparing ISA's.

  • We wanted the tool to be a self-servicable whereby the user would build up a picture of their family along with ages (see above) and plan out their budgeting strategies for the present and the future.

  • As lead designer on this project, I worked with internal business analysts and product owners to map out the flows and understand the feasibility of work. It was very much 'bluesky' at this stage to guage business appetite.
