Auto Trader
During my time at Auto Trader, I focussed on delivering logical and consistent experiences for the 13,000+ retailers that use Dealer Portal each month. Utilising the data available, I led a team to deliver customer focussed solutions that added real business value to the dealers.
Portal is a platform that retailers can create and monitor adverts of their stock on autotrader.co.uk, they can also source and dispose of stock as well as using some powerful tools to manage their current stock.

The old homepage added little value to the user
In order to begin giving our retailers real value from our data, I wanted to surface some of the key data points sooner into their journey and by replacing the existing homepage with a more personalised experience.

A redesigned homepage driven by data
With lots of incredible data available to us, I wanted to give the experience more personalisation and actionable tasks. By simply pulling through the customers name, and most popular searched vehicle from their advertised stock, we were soon able to offer a unique personalised view of portal to individual dealerships.

I worked closely with product, delivery and tech leads to map out not just the end to end journey but any other services that the experience might touch upon.

Managing new inboud leads flow
We work collaboratively and speak direct to our dealers discovering where the pain-points are and looking at how we can make improvements.

Deposits flow
To deliver a robust product, its vital that we interrogate the user flows to ensure we cater for both the happy and sad path of the user. This diagram illustrates the flow of a transaction through the consumer site, through a payment gateway and into portal.

Notifications played a vital role for the user
A notifications platform was designed and built to sit within portal and notify retailers of any latest news, new leads or in this example, a new deposit being paid.

Lead Manage Solution
On clicking the notification, the user enter the new lead management area. Using the new UI assets from the component library, we rapidly designed and built out this area using the feedback gathered from offsite discovery sessions with our retailers.

This area was designed to feel like a traditional inbox whereby retailers could keep track of all leads and reply to them via a messaging service.
