At Lloyd's, I sat within a Design Centre of Excellence, along with a group of other design and research leads. Each lead had a responsibility to build and reinforce the design culture, as part of the digital transformation work.
Using tools such as the design system and applying a set of design principals, we talked passionately about the value design plays in product development and how we wanted to not only embrace the digital transformation but take Lloyd's and the market on the design journey.
As the design lead for Delegated Authority, I took ownership for delivering laser focussed user experiences across the product suite from onboarding and managing contracts to faster claims payments and reconciliation tools.
Working closely with business stakeholders and market participants, the team of Service Designers, UX Product Designers and myself, mapped and plan out the user journeys which subsequently supported the product team in identifying, not only new opportunities but enhancements to the overall user experience within the products.

Journey Mapping
Our service design journey maps have become the single source of truth for the product teams and not just in Delegated Authority, but across the wider product set.

Service Blueprints
These blueprints don’t have to look and feel technical. We’ve found that displaying the journey in a more human centric manner allows the reader to digest and follow the flow much easier.

Blueprints made simple
A full size blueprint, when presented on a Miro board, can feel overwhelming to some stakeholders, especially if they have no experience of navigating through a journey in Miro. To solve this, we broke out the persona flows into clickable journeys, following a step-by-step approach.

Collaboration
Taking business requirements from key stakeholders and the Lloyd’s market users, the design team are able to communicate their solutions through lo-fi wireframes. Its important that the products are co-created with the users.

Wireframing concepts
Through the wireframes and utilising the components from Cardano Design System, the designers are able to take complicated and technical journeys and turn them into customer centric designs.

Rapid Prototyping
Using Figma and the integrated Cardano components, the Product Designer are able to very quickly build screens to test with users.

Comprehensive component set
The design system consists of all the components a user would expect using a modern digital tool, thus giving a more rounded experience during testing aswell as building a layer of trust with the solution.
